Movie Verdict

Chinni is a one-of-a-kind film in terms of story, realism, and execution. The filmmakers made the correct decision not to release Chinni in theatres, as the film is not intended to be a theatrical experience. The film’s narration is slow, and the audience will need time to develop an attachment to the story and characters. However, once you begin traveling alongside the main characters, you will undoubtedly enjoy this dark and gritty drama.
Keerthy Suresh as Chinni nailed it; is going to be the best film of her career and the best performance of her career. De-glamorized roles always present a challenge for the performer, but she acquitted herself admirably. Selvaraghvan as Sangayya simply embodied the character, the kind intensity he displayed in his eyes speaking for itself. The director is well aware of these two actors’ abilities, which is why he incorporates numerous close-up shots.
Chinni looks excellent technically, Director Arun Matheswaran did an excellent job in every aspect, Yamini Yagnamurthy’s cinematography is one of the film’s major highlights, the shot compositions, and color palette all worked well in the process of creating a new world, Sam CS’s background score elevated the film to another level, and the rest of the cast performed admirably.
Finally, Chinni is a must-see film, but it is not for everyone; it works best for a certain segment of the audience, and for those who enjoy intense, raw, and gritty films, Chinni is the best choice. Amazon Prime Video is now available.

Movie Rating: 3/ 5
