Movie Verdict
Salute, one of the best recent crime thrillers, is based on a true-life story that anyone can relate to. However, it takes some time to get into the main plot of the film, as the director takes his time establishing his protagonist’s world in order to connect with the audience, which was a minor flaw for the film.
The script is a little sluggish, but Dulquer Salmaan’s intense performance keeps the film interesting. The director, Rosshan Andrews, did an admirable job of staying true to the content and avoiding any unnecessary commercial elements. The rest of the cast did an excellent job as well.
One of the film’s most memorable aspects is Jakes Bejoy’s music, and Aslam K Purayil, a technically brilliant cinematographer, captured the premise and visuals in a way that felt completely natural.
Salute, a crime thriller, is now available in all languages on SonyLiv.
